Pixels, a superb short mixing live action and 8bits 3D in NYC

Pixel is a short film directed by Patrick Jean and produced by Onemoreproduction, a Paris-based visual effects studio.
The compositing work done to integrate the 3D elements into New York’s live-action footage is excellent — see for yourself:

After all, this was bound to happen — spending half our lives looking at the world through pixels... :/
It’s been a while since I’ve had such a crush on a non-commercial video experiment, and I find this one really cool — the theme is fun, it’s well executed, and it just works!
