100 Frames: The A-Z of London

100 Frames, it is the name of a new participatory animation project. The idea is to produce beautiful and short animations in 100 images. A simple and effective rule, which allow you to focus on the quality of the work.
To make sure your animation is approved, the rules are simple: "Firstly, each creation must be no more than 100 frames of animation. Secondly, it must be funny. Thirdly and most importantly, it must be artistic and beautiful."

Originally this project include Fraser Davidson and Simon Tibbs for animation. They are assisted by Dan Jones for writing, and by Samuel Morgan for the sound design. All produced by Matthew Harvey.

London from A to Z

The A-Z of London, this is the first step of 100 frames, for now conducted by their small team.
A word for each letter of the alphabet, in connection with London, is the basis for these mini four seconds shorts.

The graphic style works well: minimalism, solid colors and simplified forms.
A trendy recipe, where the illustration plays a crucial role in the animation.
Below, the first videos of this series, and I look forward for the others!

An image less, dozens of animations more

It reminds of course the 99 frames project, initiated by David Drayton , head of user experience for Maxon Cinema 4D.
The project was open to all, the idea was to produce an animation in 99 images. Below is the 8min video collecting all entries:
