The Art of Transition in Video
Whenever you try to tell a story through video, you inevitably go through the “editing” phase — cutting and stitching...
Along with motion design, if there’s another area of digital creation I truly love, it’s post-production and visual effects (VFX). So when I come across a campaign that combines live footage, 3D, compositing, and high-quality sound design, I just have to share it with you!
The Chimney Pot produced a series of really well-made spots for Bring. Seriously — see for yourself:
Nice, right? It flows effortlessly — the effects are there, yet they remain invisible. It’s worth mentioning that The Chimney Pot isn’t exactly new to this kind of work:
"Today we do post production on a little less than 1000 commercials and 15 feature films per year"
Yes, that’s right... Just like Platige, there’s not much After Effects in their production pipeline. These folks have fun with Nuke, Shake, Maya, and the like. And honestly, as long as Adobe doesn’t release its own 3D modeling/animation software, I don’t think it’s possible to achieve this level of result with the Creative Suite. No — I’m sure of it ;)
