HP, Advertising, and Interaction: A Fresh Style — and It’s Beautiful!

Here’s one of the latest HP commercials — and it’s really well done! It was created by Psyop, a major motion design studio that needs no introduction, and I have to say, it’s absolutely beautiful.

After a long campaign that you all know, it was definitely time for a change in style. No more static framing — welcome to wide shots, movement, and rhythm. And it feels great!

As for the product itself, I’m not really a fan… A non–multi-touch technology (single point of contact) that isn’t integrated into the system (Windows) but managed through HP’s own software layer (although it looks nice) — it’s cool for a quick 5-minute demo with friends, but over time, working with your arm stretched out in front of the screen must get tiring ^^
Personally, I’d use it in the living room as a media center, but not much more ^^

Come on, Mac users — just wait a bit longer, and in a year or two we’ll have a real system, fully re-engineered for multitouch, with a beautiful apple logo on top :)
