News from Lumbre, filled with keyframes

Remember the talented Argentine studio Lumbre?
I featured them just over a year ago in this article, and it’s time to take another look at some of their latest creations!

After Effects Addicts

Lumbre loves After Effects, and our favorite little piece of software clearly loves them back!
In the three videos below, each with a unique style, you’ll see plenty of simple shape animations — all perfectly achievable in After Effects, with a bit of time… and some good taste.

Keyframes are your best friends. With just a few basic animations of scale, opacity, and some clever use of masks, you can create beautiful, clean animations similar to those made by Lumbre for Friendly.

Pay close attention to the transitions and motion in the Classified package — you’ll quickly realize the sheer number of elements and keyframes involved. Fast, intricate, and meticulously timed: that’s the secret!

Finally, because simplicity never hurts, enjoy some freshness and color with the 24 Kitchen rebrand. A well-balanced mix of colors, typography, masks, and imagery.

Walking Dead Promos

In a mood perfectly suited to the series, Lumbre also created a set of promotional graphics for The Walking Dead on Fox.
Take some 3D, mix in matte paintings, add some solid After Effects compositing, sprinkle in dynamic typography and snappy transitions, and you get broadcast visuals that truly grab attention:

TyC Sports

This time, Lumbre teamed up with some of Argentina’s best motion designers — acting both as studio and agency — to create this translucent, layered look for TyC Sports. The cutout effect is beautifully executed, with great attention to texture.
And as a bonus, here’s another colorful, pop-inspired piece!

Keep an eye on the studio through their website and Vimeo page — it’s always a pleasure to see what they come up with next!
