MTV International Rebrand

MTV reaches an audience of 524 million viewers across 160 countries. So when the group decides to refresh its global TV, Web, and Print identity with a unified design system, you can expect something pretty cool!

MTV is known for working with top-notch directors and studios on its branding, often giving creatives plenty of freedom. This time, we find Universal Everything, Tronic, Zeitguised, and Realise, among others, involved in creating this new identity :)

Whether you like MTV or not, when it comes to motion design and creativity in their branding, it remains one of the channels that dares the most (even if it means losing a bit of its own identity... apart from the logo). Personal favorite here: Mister Furry, which really made me laugh :)

Good luck to Universal Everything, who now has to produce five 50-page booklets detailing the entire international branding guide! Then again, it can add up quickly — just take a look at Pepsi’s brand guide to see how some people can stretch and justify their ideas over dozens of pages ;)
