Nokia Leevi E71 - Spot by Psyop and Stink

Here’s a really beautiful spot for Nokia’s new phone, produced by Stink and Psyop. And since these two are far from amateurs, we could expect something well-crafted — and it definitely is:

I particularly liked the sequence with the multicolored LED patterns on the 3D black bars. It really makes me want to try creating a variant using Trapcode Form — generating a grid for each LED, syncing the movement to the music, and experimenting with colored solids and blending modes that work well together... I’m sure it’s possible to achieve a similar result without necessarily going full 3D. Worth testing :)

And here’s a question for you: The white cyclos behind the actors throughout the spot — real cyclos or 3D elements?
I would’ve said real… until they turned transparent in the final part of the video.

In any case, this is exactly the kind of VFX/motion work I love: dynamic, colorful, bright, and high-contrast. A great source of inspiration :)
(And if anyone finds a making-of for this spot somewhere online, please share it — I’d love to see it ;) )
