There are tons of studios, each more creative than the last — the internet proves it to us every day, and that’s what makes us happy! But sometimes, some stand out by offering innovative services that combine design and new technologies.

That’s the case with Strukt, a studio based in Austria that excels in creating interactive multimedia installations accompanying major brands during events:

Their area of expertise is impressive:

  • Interactive Design (tables, walls, and multitouch screens, development of custom interactive solutions, intelligent environments reacting to the audience, ...) for events, exhibitions, museums, stores, etc.
  • Generative Design (real-time graphics, data visualization) for broadcast, concerts, and other live performances
  • Motion Design (2D & 3D animation, compositing, art direction) which overlaps with nearly all other sectors
  • Graphic Design (logo design, visual identity creation, interface design, sketches of installations before setup, ...) for events and exhibitions

A very complete studio indeed, allowing its 9 members to design increasingly original creations — interactive or not.
Below is a small selection of their work, which I recommend you check out on their portfolio.

As I mentioned a few days ago on Twitter, I wouldn’t say no to having one of their digital wallpaper installations in my apartment :) Their technique of video projector mapping on walls looks really impressive!

Doing motion design aimed at interactivity must be awesome. But After Effects isn’t necessarily the best solution for that. I’m not sure which programming language Strukt uses, but if interaction appeals to you, I think Processing is a great way to get started in this world at the crossroads between artistic creation and programming ;)
